Randall Levere will talk about his bike trip to central Switzerland and the French Alps. Highlights include spectating at the 2009 UCI World Championships road race in Mendrisio, riding around central Switzerland, culminating with a trip through the French Alps and a climb up Alpe d&#8217;Huez.</p>

<p>Entertainment for the evening will be the showing of the movie <strong><em>The Bicycle Corps: America’s Black Army on Wheels, </em></strong>which tells of the recollections of two African-American riders, an enthusiastic white officer and a black first sergeant who were part of the US Army’s experiment in the 1890’s to replace horses with popular new “safety bicycles.” The army sent 20 African-American soldiers on a 2000-mile ride from Fort Missoula, Montana to St. Louis, Missouri.</p>

<p>Call for Volunteers to help plan the <a href="http://mainebikerally.org" target="_blank">Maine Bike Rally</a> July 9-11 at Brunswick High School!  Please join a committee and attend monthly meetings (3rd Tuesday) at 6:00PM at Brunswick High School library classroom (just inside front entrance to school). Committee options are road rides, mountain bike rides, marketing/publicity, sponsorship, food/catering, programming, bike expo, and kid&#8217;s activities.</p>
<p>Next meeting January 19, 2010.  Bring your ideas and come out!  Contact Kathy Potrepka for more information.</p>
